I am hoping you get to see this, that Typepad doesn't go AWOL again. Yesterday I wrote a post over here.....go have a look if you missed it, it's quite interesting, lots of gingham.
Today is a recap of the past few days from my phone. I'm told that some of you quite like to see these. The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that I bought new thread, ate an Easter egg and that one of my walls needs new wallpaper. What can I say....you have to take me as you find me, but the kettle's always on!
I have been gathering my thoughts, assessing where I am up to and where I need to be, what comes next. These silk samplers weren't all embroidered this week but they were all finished this week. I love bringing them together like this, laying them one on top of another, folding them, stacking them. Depending on where you fold you get a completely different perspective. There is potential here for hundreds of images, all different depending on where the individual pieces are placed. I spared you that, I sensed the yawns.....
It is way too hot here, not conducive to much that is usefull. It is cool in the house though. Deanna said they get to 102, the weatherman said we are touching 90 in places. I have iced water to drink in abundance. It's wonderful.
It's all coming together now, this weeks work, all growing and some nearly finished. I have also started a new class, been to visit my folks, forgotten a cake, tidied up, done the Friday big shop, ironed clothes etc etc..... Tonight I will stuff and edge pin pillows and maybe even finish the pouch. That will mean my list will get even more ticked off it....happy days!
Tomorrow night I am going here with my other half. It has been booked for ages and came round so quickly that I nearly forgot. Last time I went to see these there was someone in the row in front of me knitting....yes knitting!! I wonder if stuffing pin pillows would be acceptable?
This week has gone by in a whirl. When I listed embroider, embellish, create I counted my weeks wrong meaning that Alchemy still has two weeks to run when eec begins. It's not a problem as such it just means more planning, more readiness and twice the number of videos to make. Importantly too I must make sure that nobody feels neglected, gets less than 100% of what they deserve. With that in mind my dining room come work room come computer room has been in disarray every day. The table always needs to be clear to eat in the evening so things have been taken off, moved about, photographed and videoed in a never ending cycle of activity.
The items in the second to last image will be mostly unfamiliar, far removed from white and lace and titvation. They are ''old'' work and have been discussed in a video for my Alchemy girls. I may also make a video for here about them next week sometime. The stories behind them are both familiar and in the case of the framed piece quite amusing. The thread? Well I have a lot of embroidery to do.....
Before I go I want to say thanks for all the input yesterday....I am leaning towards a hinged frame for that piece, a frame with a glass door. I also have a massive desire to make titivated lace curtains too (thanks Mo!)
p.s.....the silver foil, do you see that? It's cake......it's all gone now, sorry!
