The latest finish sample from my recent explorations, a couple of images taken during the process too.
I know what I am doing next, how that piece will look but I actually don't know what the outcome of all this sampling will be.
I'm just going to keep going until the revelation hits....
I'm managing to spend a few hours with this today.
Here I am auditioning scraps of lace to use on the next piece of the puzzle.
Things have eased up a little here thankfully in terms of family issues so going forward I am hoping to make great progress with this work.
Remember in this post I was considering finishing touches for these embroidered pieces? Well not much from that collection made the final cut, only the off white pompoms.
In addition to those I hand wrapped some tiny buttons, finished a couple of edges and hey presto.
It's busy here at the moment, the best kind of busy.
My daughter is here from London with Stanley and Sonny is here a lot to play with his big cousin.
These boys light up my days.
Lace cloth, I always say this but I'm going to say it again......I forget how much I love working on this fabric when I am working on other things, then I start with this again and fall in love for the millionth time.
The smaller of these pieces is new, the bigger piece a sample from some time ago. I am however working on that 'old' piece as I realised there was so much more I could do with it.
I apologise that I don't have anything new to show you today but although these pieces weren't created recently they are very much inspiration for what is coming next for me.
Creatively I am a bit all over the place at the moment.
Work is continuing on this piece, I am sampling for my new class (that's where today's images come in), I am crocheting and have also casted on some knitting!
I'm certain you all know what this kind of juggling is like so am confident you are all with me in spirit!
As requested, a little more information about my new class which begins on Monday February 8. I hope the short video answers the (very few) questions I have been asked.
Meanwhile I continue to piece papers and play with lace like fabrics to determine how the two compliment each other.
I am having a very hard time restraining myself from taking this further before class begins.

I've been sampling some more with net for the reasons I spoke of in this post.
It's photographed here laid on embroidered pieces as it's very difficult to get a good image without some kind of background.
There were plans to stitch a more structured piece, with a border perhaps but honestly......I went cross eyed trying to identify a straight line on this.
I am doodling too. I really have to push myself for that task. The pencil and I don't have an easy relationship but I am trying.
Stitching for me equals joy. Drawing equals a chore. Can't help it. Can't change.
In my next class I will be reworking a ledger that is concerned with lace, domestic cloth and patchwork. Hence the drawing but honestly, headache central.
There is always tracing? and if my new pages are fab and whoop de doo maybe that will 'lift' the tracing????
So now, yes now, I'm off to attempt to create those fab pages.
I'm continuing to work in the little book from this post. This double page spread has embroidered lace, a cigarette silk, some ribbon and a few embroidered flowers.
Last time I spoke about working the page edges in a different way to buttonhole stitch. This edge has tiny pompoms all around it.
Every page won't have pompoms or buttonhole stitch. Hopefully I can come up with more ideas.
My cloth book has been resting as I ran out of silk but my new stuff has arrived so I am on it.
