A pocket from sewing circle, mounted on a larger piece of silk with hand stitched edge adornments.
The pattern was hand drawn onto the silk before I began to embroider into selected areas. I then hand embroidered several buttons, some are visible here and there are several concealed within the pocket.
The scallop like edge was hand embroidered as a final, finishing touch.
It's all hand finished, no stitching three sides and turning right way out.
I am in love with the ritual of hand stitch, the slower the better.
You can learn to embroider with me too.
Interactive sewing circle is listed now but does not begin until July.
(places are strictly limited and there will be a cut off date for registration towards the end of this month)
There will be scheduled Zoom sessions, a new venture for me. Exciting and scary in equal measure.
