The white book. It's been in progress for months. It was always going to be in progress for months, a slow burner, not rushed. It's a 'playtime' book added to as and when the inspiration strikes. On Sunday we added more over on the 12 month artist book class. There is just one more page to titivate and this one will be finished. There is embroidered paper and lace. There are scraps of fragile white cloth stitched to ribbons and buttons. Our class motto is 'never throw anything away', it's amazing what you can do with all those little remnants of paper and cloth.
It doesn't close. That's the best thing about it. The pages are always visible, a glance inspires and hints at other creative ideas. I love it. Can you tell?
I have started another one. There are also other books being put together on the 12 month artist book blog. By the end of September I hope to have a personal collection of six artist books in various forms which have been put together over this year.
(Registration for the 12 month artist book blog remains open until September. If you think you can bear to never throw anything away then come and join us. You can read more here.)
